Overview
PitStopCalc ("we," "us," "the site") provides free automotive and trucking calculators. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, how it's used, and your choices.
Information we collect
The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser — the numbers you enter (vehicle weights, tire sizes, fuel prices, etc.) are not sent to or stored on our servers. We do not require an account, login, or any personal information to use the calculators.
Like most websites, we may automatically collect limited technical information through server logs and analytics tools, such as:
- Pages visited and time spent on the site
- Browser type, device type, and approximate location (city/region level, from IP address)
- Referring website or search terms that led you here
What's saved in your browser (Recent, Favorites, Saved Results)
To make it easier to pick up where you left off, some calculator pages store a small amount of data using your browser's built-in localStorage — not a cookie, and not something that leaves your device. This is separate from, and unrelated to, the analytics and advertising described below.
- Recent calculations — which calculator you used and the inputs/results, so a "Recent" list can show them back to you
- Calculators you've starred as favorites
- Any result you've chosen to name and save
- Your US / Metric display preference, which may be set automatically based on your page language or device, or chosen manually
None of this is sent to us or to any third party — it never leaves your browser. You can review exactly what's stored, or clear it with one click, from the "Clear Data" link in the footer of any page. Clearing your browser data, using a private/incognito window, or blocking storage removes it instantly and does not stop the calculators from working — they simply stop remembering.
Cookies and advertising
This site is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

Your consent choices
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, or South Korea, a consent message appears on your first visit, provided by a Google-certified consent management platform. Until you make a choice there, advertising and analytics cookies stay switched off: in those regions this site instructs Google's tags by default to withhold ad storage, ad personalization, advertising user data, and analytics storage.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page, which reopens the same consent message. That link only appears where a consent message applies to you.
In other regions, including the United States, no consent message is shown and advertising is personalized by default. You can still limit or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through the Google Ads Settings link above, or through your browser's own cookie controls.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, this site honors it automatically: advertising storage, ad personalization, and advertising user data are switched off for that visit, with no action needed from you. This applies wherever you are, not only in the US states that require it. Site analytics are unaffected, as GPC is an opt-out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising rather than of first-party measurement.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Data security
Because the calculators run locally in your browser and we don't collect account data, there is minimal personal data on our end to secure. Any technical/analytics data collected by third-party tools is handled according to those providers' own security practices.
Your choices
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, use the Google Ads Settings link above to limit ad personalization, or use browser extensions that block tracking — though this may affect how ads and some site features display.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
